by hellobobshai Published on Sep 08, 2022

The Hanuman Dhoka Palace is one of the most important historical monuments of Nepal. The palace has served as a royal residence for Malla, Shah, and Rana rulers. It consists of many courtyards out of which four are open to the public. The mansion was also the ceremonial location for all royal ceremonies and is the place where the last coronation ceremony (coronation of King Gyanendra) took place. The Palace is home to many precious artworks mostly from the Malla era. Presently, the Palace houses a museum consisting of the Tribhuvan Memorial Gallery, Mahendra Memorial Gallery, and Birendra Memorial Gallery, all of which provide a close look into the lives of recent Shah Kings. They are a rich source to understand and have a glimpse of the studies and bedrooms that the kings used. The museum house various artifacts, coins, jewels, exquisite thrones, striking weapons, intricate wood carvings, and many other fascinating features.
