Ason, Kathmandu Nepal

by sunil_sharma Published on Sep 12, 2021

Traditional #herbal #medicines are popular in Nepal. Locals savour them churning out their own recipes that help in building immunity and fighting against daily ailments. Shops are tucked into every corner of #Asan Tole, the busiest traditional trading place, in Kathmandu selling varieties of herbal medicines. It is a human ecosystem where shopkeepers interact and engaged with visitors who are curious to know different herbs and its properties. Such ritual is intricately woven into everyday life here. Navigating and negotiating narrow alley one can find herbal shops in every niche of Asan Tole. Shopkeepers are well-versed about herbs (how and where they are grown; how and when to use; above all they explain right quantity that is most essential part of using herbal medicine). An age-old shop gives credence to charm of Nepalese daily life ! In a nutshell, these are not shops in itself, infect it is an #institution with so much to learn and #experience
