Shikali Jatra in Khokana is one of the most intriguing festivals that I have experienced. The festival is particularly celebrated by people in the village as an alternative to the Dashain festival. Masked dances following tantric rituals are performed by dancers garbed in colourful attires during the festival. One of the masked deities taking a nap, behind the stage after a traditional dance performance.
