Salbari Park holds historical importance as a memorial to the martyrs of the 1950 Jhapa Revolt, a movement led by the Nepali Congress and others against the autocratic Rana regime. Statues placed at the center of the park honor those who sacrificed their lives in the fight for democracy and freedom.
