Pashupatinath Temple, located in Kathmandu, is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it stands on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River and draws thousands of pilgrims and tourists every year. The temple’s pagoda-style architecture, gold-plated roof, and richly carved wooden doors highlight Nepal’s artistic and spiritual heritage. It houses a sacred Shiva lingam and is considered the head of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Pashupatinath is a center for religious rituals, especially during Maha Shivaratri, and remains a symbol of devotion, peace, and timeless cultural significance in Nepal and beyond.
