Jumla, Thakurgyu to Jogini Trekking Area
by sorajshahi Published on Jun 08, 2025
"Kahara Daha," a locally known high-altitude lake, is one of many unnamed and unexplored lakes in the Thakurgy Temple and Jogini region of Jumla. The area, famous for its religious significance during Sharawan Purnima, is also a scenic trekking and camping destination with trails reaching up to 4,900m. In summer, locals from Jumla and Jajarkot graze sheep in these meadows. Rich in biodiversity, the region is home to endangered wildlife like the musk deer, ghoral, and wild bears. It's also a prime site for Yarsagumba collection and is abundant in medicinal herbs like satuwa, baan lasun, seto chini, and paanch aauley.
