Aaju Dyo /Shree Aakash Bhairav Tho Hyakugu

indrachowk, kathmandu

by prabin_shrestha Published on Sep 02, 2020

Every night, on the occasion of Yenya Punhi, the local buckwheat beer or rice beer is poured from the mouth of Aju dya ( Akash Bhairav) as a part of the ritual in a way called Hatha Hayekegu. When this is done, special instruments are played. According to popular belief, people should not drink and should not exceed the rice beer which is poured from the mouth of Aju dya( Akash Bhairav). There is another belief that if this buckwheat beer (jaand/prasad) is sprinkled on the body, the disease will be cured.
